DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS HOMEBOUND, RECOVERING FROM SURGERY, OR UNDERGOING MEDICAL TREATMENT?
The Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library sponsors 2 free services for residents of Branchville, Frankford, Lafayette, Sussex, and Wantage:
Book Delivery for the Homebound
A Friends volunteer will pick up and deliver library materials to homebound borrowers at a pre-arranged, mutually convenient time. We match individuals one-on-one with a regular volunteer, and the volunteer always calls ahead before making a delivery. If someone does not know what books they want, we can select books for them based on their reading interest.
Audio-Visual Lending Closet
Loans CD players, cassette players and audio books to those who are homebound, ill, or undergoing medical treatment and find reading traditional books difficult. In addition to the wide selection of audiobooks on CD available through the library catalog, we have a number of donated books on cassette to be used with the cassette players. We also have a tablet available for reading e-books, magazines and newspapers; listening to music; playing games; and doing crossword puzzles.
